Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful in Portugal, the Vouga Valley Ecotrail which was once an old railroad linking the Northern Line in Espinho to the Dão Line in Viseu, extended for 140 km. Starting at Lugar da Foz, near to the source of the Mau River , the Ecotrail takes you north, parallel to the Vouga River and Route16. It crosses the bridge at Pôço of Santiago – a true architectural monument, passes the building of the old Paradela train station and continues to the limits of the county of Oliveira de Frades, in Fontelas, extending for 10.384m.
