The River Vouga
A river of great beauty, which sources from the Lapa mountain range is located in the parish of Quintela, municipality of Sernancelhe and flows into the sea at Aveiro.
Along its course, it passes several localities, some of which have closely related names connected to the river, such as Pessegueiro do Vouga, Sernada do Vouga, Sever do Vouga, or Macinhata do Vouga.
The Ribeiradio reservoir is located in middle Vouga, between the towns of Ribeiradio and Couto de Esteves. It extends for about 14 km, between the bridge of the Cunhedo and the Ribeiradio dam, passing through beautiful and picturesque embedded valleys. The clear waters are ideal for water sports, such as kayak or stand-up paddle, constituting a new element of tourist attraction in this region.
In a gorgeous setting, the river beach of Quinta do Barco is situated on the left bank of the river, near the village of Paradela do Vouga. The leisure area has infrastructures that allow everyone to enjoy the surrounding nature. In addition to this, beach activities, canoeing and extreme sports are also available.
