The River Vouga
River of great beauty, born in the mountain range of Lapa, more concretely in the so-called Chafariz da Lapa, located in the parish of Quintela, municipality of Sernancelhe and flows into the sea at Aveiro.
In its course, it covers several localities, some of which have their name closely connected to the river, such as Pessegueiro do Vouga, Sernada do Vouga, Sever do Vouga, Macinhata do Vouga.
The Ribeiradio reservoir is located in the middle Vouga, between the towns of Ribeiradio and Couto de Esteves. The clear waters are ideal for water sports, such as kayak or stand up paddle, constituting a new element of tourist attraction in the region.
In a beautiful setting, the river beach of Quinta do Barco is situated on the left bank of the Vouga River, near the village of Paradela do Vouga. The leisure area has infrastructures that allow everyone to enjoy the surrounding nature. In addition to the beach activity, canoeing and extreme sports are available.
